DONATIONS!!!!!!!!
When the Fayette County Humane Society  received the report of a severely wounded  dog at Deer Creek State Park, we thought we might have to euthanize him.  However, this injured dog turned out to be a very special  one year old Boxer mix who had been shot in the right front leg several weeks ago. The Fayette County Dog Warden picked him up on Thursday, January 19th , and transported him to the Fayette Veterinary Hospital. When we at the Fayette County Humane Society met Trooper(  he earned  the name because of all the trauma he had been through and survived) we knew we had to do all we could to save him.    We conferred with the veterinarians at Fayette Veterinary Hospital , and it was determined that Trooper could be saved. The doctors estimated that Trooper had been running on his three good legs for at least two weeks, if not more, in extreme pain due to the fact that the gunshot had nearly severed his leg.
Amputation surgery was performed on Trooper Friday, January 20th. He has been recuperating and doing surprisingly well. He is now in a Fayette County Humane Society  foster home , where he is working his way back to good health so he can find a loving, permanent home.  Trooper is such a sweet, loveable guy who bonds very quickly with anyone who gives him a cuddle. He will be available for adoption as soon as the veterinarians feel he is fully recuperated.  Anyone who is interested in adopting Trooper or donating to the Fayette County Humane Society in his honor should contact Humane Agents Danyel or Kris at (740) 335-8126, or visit the F.C.H.S  on Facebook at www.facebook.com/fayettehumanesociety or you can donate using paypal  click here. The Fayette County Humane Society wishes to thank the doctors and staff at Fayette  Veterinary Hospital for generously providing medical services at very reasonable cost.  Trooper has been neutered, dewormed, vaccinated, heartworm tested, and treated for fleas.
